Hi there, I am Ashish. I am an MMath research student at the Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo. I am a part of the Waterloo Intelligent Systems Engineering lab and the behavior planning team for autonomoose, Waterloo's self driving car project.
Research Interests: Broadly, I'm interested in the theory of decision making and uncertainty for real-world automated systems. Over the span of the past two years, I have worked in some capacity on:
- Rule based high-level behavior planning for autonomous driving
- Safe reinforcement learning through interpretable reward design
- Classifiers that understand the decision boundary between in-distribution and out-of-distribution data
- The effect of the stability bias in continual learning and continual reinforcement learning (Master's thesis)
Here is my resume (last updated Dec 2019).
I'm open to collaboration opportunities and full-time industry positions, so please feel free to send me an email if you found my work interesting or think that I'd be a good fit for a certain role.
